I love eating nopales cactus. It’s good first stir-fried and then put into bean & rice burritos.
Also, harissa is really good in olive oil as a bread dip.
And coconut oil is just heavenly… it’s great in baking & if you cook with it, food gets a thai or indian taste.
I look forward to trying all three!
I love this list! There are so many amazing foods on here that I love. I just tried golden beets a couple of weeks ago and was BLOWN away. They’re really hard to find, but totally worth it. Glad you found my blog, Teniesha! Can’t wait to hear how you like my raw carrot cake cheesecake
Well, then, I’ll have to get my hands on some golden beets. I love regular red beets, so that’ll be exciting! And I’ll definitely let you know how the cheesecake turns out–I’m sure it’ll be AMAZING!
This is a great list! I feel compelled to make one now. I think it’s really neat that you have aloe vera on it – I’ve wanted to try it too! If you can get ahold of the “Cool Slaw” recipe from Appetite For Reduction, it’s a pretty decent vegan coleslaw. This is just so awesome, I’m amused by things like this.
I love Isa’s cookboks! Haven’t tried AFR yet, but now I’ll definitely have to!
For a non grape fruit wine, my personal favourite is cranberry. I don’t like dry wines but neither do I like them overly sweet, cranberry wine was so perfectly tart and crisp and delicious – I have wanted more ever since. We got it at a winery in the Black Hills called Prairie Berry, they had TONS of different interesting fruit wines, including pumpkin of all things. Another good one, especially if you are ever in Quebec, is apple ice wine. It’s basically a hard cider but the end of season apples must freeze naturally on the trees before being pressed and fermented. It is incredibly sweet (the freezing concentrates the sugars) but very very delicious.
That apple ice wine sounds fabulous!
Do you mean umeboshi vinegar? That stuff is the best!! try it with flax oil on some dark leafy greens, it’s a match made in heaven.
Thanks for the suggestion!
This is SUCH a great idea. I’ve been trying out veganism for the past 4 weeks and I have been loving trying new foods! I’m going to borrow this list from you and make it a goal to eat lots of these foods
I love that being vegan means broadening food horizons!

Sounds fabulous! Becoming vegan can be such an exciting culinary adventure–enjoy!
i love this list! so creative, and so many fun foods! I’ve tried a lot of these but there are a good amount that I haven’t too. Thanks for sharing
It’s so much fun striving to cross things off, one food at a time.
I’ve heard great things about coconut milk icecream! It’s something I want to try making homemade as well. If you get to it first, let me know how it is!
Will do!
Love this idea!
Thank you!
Knishes! I can give you some fab fillings for them! How about Tofu Blueberry and Sweet Potato with ++++? GoGo for it Superwoman.
